STATESBORO, Georgia (September 10, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team faced Georgia Southern in the team's final match at the Eagle Invitational. The Panthers fell to the Eagles 3-0. The score stood at 25-19, 26-24, 25-15 in favor of GSU.
FIU dropped to 2-6 on the season while Georgia Southern improved to 4-2 with the win.
The Panthers posted 40 kills and a .173 hitting percentage. FIU also recorded 62 digs and 37 assists in the loss.
Fiorella Murillo and
Shannon Gormally logged 10 kills apiece during the match.
Autumn Raulerson tallied 33 of the team's 37 assists while
Valeria Santos notched 20 digs.
The final regular-season tournament for the Panthers takes place at North Florida next week. FIU faces off against Seton Hall and the host Ospreys on Sept. 17.
