FORT MYERS, Florida (September 3, 2021) - The FIU indoor volleyball team fell at Florida Gulf Coast as a apart of the Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Classic on Friday night. The score stood at 25-5, 25-23, 25-19 in favor of the tournament host Eagles.

FIU falls to 1-3 this year while FGCU remains at an undefeated 5-0.

The Panthers logged 28 kills while hitting .101 for the match. Giada Bianchi led the way for FIU with 11 kills and 10 digs, the freshmen's third double-double of the season. Ella Erteltova posted 24 of the squad's 28 assists while Valeria Santos tallied a team-best 16 digs.

The team closes out the weekend against USC Upstate with first serve on Saturday slated for 2 p.m. ET.
