FORT MYERS, Florida (September 4, 2021) - The FIU indoor volleyball team closed the Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Classic with a 3-0 victory over USC Upstate on Saturday afternoon. The score stood at 25-21, 25-18, 25-20 in favor of the Panthers.

FIU moved to 2-3 with the win while the Spartans dropped to 1-4 with the loss.

The Panthers posted a .304 hitting percentage while tallying 43 kills during the match. The team also logged 42 digs, 40 assists, seven aces and six blocks. Leading the team offensively was Fiorella Murillo as the senior recorded 13 kills while hitting .500 during the match. Giada Bianchi tallied 12 kills and a team-best four aces during the win. Ella Erteltova notch 33 assists and Valeria Santos posted 21 digs for the Panthers.

For the team's next matches, FIU heads to the Eagle Invitational on September 10th. The Panthers face off against Murray State and host Georgia Southern.
