MIAMI (March 10, 2022) – No. 17 FIU Beach Volleyball opened the home slate of the 2022 season with a doubleheader sweep of Florida Memorial on Thursday afternoon. The Panthers took down the lions 5-0 in back-to-back contest.
 
Paige Kalkhoff and Giada Bianchi dominated both on court one, taking down FMU 21-8, 21-4 in the first dual and 21-4, 21-10 in the rematch.
 
The Panther pairing of Gina Lipscomb and Paola Alvarado was equally impressive on court three with a 21-3, 21-4 victory in the opening duel before a 21-2, 21-4 win in the nightcap.

FIU returns to Miami on March 15 to host the 2022 FIU Surf N Turf Beach Volleyball Invitational Tournament at Lummus Park on South Beach.
  
The 2022 Surf N Turf tourney, which is free and open to the public, will include the 2021 defending national champion Southern California (USC), Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, Florida Memorial, Palm Beach Atlantic and host FIU.
