3/14/2022 4:49:00 PM

MIAMI (March 14, 2022) – No. 17 FIU beach volleyball team is set to host the 2022 Surf N Turf Invitational Tournament starting on  Tuesday, March 15 through Wednesday, March 16 at Lummus Park on Miami's South Beach.

The 2022 tournament returns to South Beach after the 2020 event was cancelled due to Covid and the limited travel in early 2021 forced the event to be held on the FIU campus.

The 2022 Surf N Turf tourney, which is free and open to the public, will include the 2021 defending national champion Southern California (USC), Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, Florida Memorial, Palm Beach Atlantic and host FIU.

The opening day schedule (Tuesday, March 15) gets underway at 9 a.m. with FIU taking on Palm Beach Atlantic.  That will be followed by UNF vs. Florida Memorial (11 a.m.), FIU vs. UNF (1 p.m.), Palm Beach Atlantic vs. Florida Memorial (3 p.m.) and North Florida vs. Palm Beach Atlantic (5 p.m.).

FIU enters Surf N Turf with a perfect 6-0 record on the young 2022 season and are led by Giada Bianchi and Paige Kalkhoff. The Bianchi and Kalkhoff pairing is 6-0 on court one in 2022.
