JACKSONVILLE, Florida (March. 4, 2022) – No. 17 FIU beach volleyball topped Nebraska and North Florida to open the 2022 campaign on the first day of the UNF Invitational. The Panthers took down Nebraska 5-0 and UNF 4-1.
 
Paige Kalkhoff and Giada Bianchi dominated the Huskers on court one with a 21-14, 21-11 performance. The Panther pairing of Emily Meyer and Rachele Mancinelli topped Nebraska 21-13, 21-10 on court two.
 
The Meyer/Mancinelli shined in the UNF matchup taking both sets from the Osprey by scores of 21-16 and 21-14 on court two. On court five, Kendall Mather and Lisa Luini prevailed 21-18, 21-15.
 
FIU is back in action with the second day of the UNF Invitational on Saturday. The squad faces Coastal Carolina at 10 a.m., and Jacksonville at 2 p.m.
