MIAMI (May 20, 2022) - The FIU Panthers will be represented by three-student athletes at the NCAA East Preliminaries, as the Panthers will look to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the seventh consecutive season.
Rhema Otabor (javelin),
Filippa Miller (pole vault), and Queshun Watson-Riggins (long jump) will comepte for FIU at the prelims, hosted by Indiana University from May 25-28. The top 12 in each event will advance to Eugene.
Otabor currently holds the third best mark in the east, and earlier this season set the FIU school record with a mark of 56.25m. As a freshman last season, Otabor advanced to the NCAA Championships by placing 12th in the prelims.
Filippa Miller is seeded 20th, with a personal best of 4.20m earlier this season at the North Florida Collegiate Invitational.
Queshun Watson-Riggins is seeded ninth, with a mark of 7.93m he set at the Virginia Challenge.
