FORT MYERS, Fla. - Â Due to weather complications and lightning in the Fort Myers area, Sunday's women's soccer match between FIU and FGCU has been suspended and deemed a no contest through the 35
th minute.

Both teams were held scoreless through the match, though, FIU's
Chinatsu Kaio and
Kennedy Floyd recorded a pair of shots on goal for the Panthers in the first half.
Kim Schneider and
Farah El Tayar also logged shots, while
Ithaisa Vinoly corralled a save on the Eagles' lone shot on goal for the contest.

UP NEXT
The Panthers shift gears to Conference USA action now, opening league play in the Lone Star State with matchups at UTEP on Thursday, Sept. 15, and Rice on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Thursday's matchup at UTEP is set for a 9 p.m. ET kickoff in El Paso, Texas, while Sunday's match at Rice is set for a noon ET kickoff in Houston. Both matches are slated to be broadcast on CUSA.tv.
