LYNCHBURG, Va. — FIU's volleyball program earned a three-set sweep of Liberty on Saturday afternoon in Conference USA (CUSA) action.
The Panthers (10-14, 6-4 CUSA) edged out the Flames (11-11, 4-6 CUSA) in all three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-22, respectively.
Yasso Amin paced the offense with 11 kills at a blistering .500 clip. Jade Sadeiko was also in double-digits with 10 kills on 28 attempts.
For the second-straight day, FIU out-blocked the Flames, racking up 11 blocks to Liberty's seven. Travel Morris had 6.0 blocks while Amin and Savannah Cook added three each.
The Panthers attacked more efficiently as well, hitting .200 while holding Liberty to a .104 attack percentage.
Amber Beals led the defensive effort with 16 digs and had zero reception errors.
FIU returns to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center to take on Jacksonville State on Oct. 27-28.
