MIAMI – The FIU Women's Soccer (8-4-4 3-1-3 CUSA) team comeback fell short allowing a pair of goals in the second as they dropped their home finale for the by the margin of 2-1 on Sunday afternoon against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs recorded a pair of goals in the 52
nd minute and the 58
th minute on a penalty kick before cutting the deficit in half on a goal by junior
Nikole Solis in the 66
th minute, yet were unable to tie up the match after 90.
Camille Sahirul was able to cross the pass to Solis as she found the top left corner of the net. Sahirul logged her team-leading fifth asssit of the season.
Solis tallied her team-leading ninth goal of the season, which is the most scored by a FIU Panther since the 2012 season. In addition, it marks the juniors career-high thus far donning the Blue & Gold.
The Panthers outshot Louisiana Tech 13-6 including firing off seven shots in the first half. Solis and
Brealyn Viamille each tied for three shots on the afternoon.
In net, freshman goalkeeper
Gwen Jordan made her first collegiate start, recording a save.

The Panthers will look to climb in the CUSA standing as prepare for their final regular season match on the road, taking on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Friday, Oct. 27.
