MIAMI — FIU's volleyball program held off Jacksonville State in five sets on Saturday afternoon in Conference USA (CUSA) play.
The Panthers (12-14, 8-4 CUSA) won the opening two sets before the Gamecocks (5-17, 3-9 CUSA) stormed back to win the next two frames. FIU regained momentum in the fifth set with an 8-1 run to open the frame, winning 15-5 to clinch the match and weekend sweep.
Jade Sadeiko racked up 21 kills and hit .405 to pace the offense. Yasso Amin also had a standout performance with 15 kills at a .429 clip.
Savannah Cook had a double-double with 42 assists and 11 digs.
FIU had 12 or more kills in each of the first four sets and finished with a season-high 61 kills. The Panthers Improve to 7-2 at home.
FIU takes on Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, K.Y. on Nov. 3-4 in its final road weekend of the CUSA regular season.
