MIAMI (Feb. 25, 2023) – Baseball faced Missouri in the third game of a four-game set on Saturday losing out, 10-4.
 
Junior Dante Girardi had a solid night going 2-4 with an RBI. Junior Steven Ondina picked up his second RBI of the season, while fellow junior Ruben Carpio hit a RBI triple in his 2023 debut.
 
Missouri took the lead early in the game, going up 4-0 after driving in two runs in both the second and third innings.
 
The FIU response came in the bottom of the fifth as the Panthers would cut the lead in half.
 
An Ondina double down the third base line would score junior Henry Wallen from first. Later in the inning Girardi would hit a single through the left side to score Ondina and bring the score to 4-2.
 
The Tigers continued to find hits, scoring six runs through their final four frames to move ahead, 10-2.
 
The Panthers would get two more runs across home plate in the bottom of the ninth on a Carpio pinch hit triple.
