Mihaela Lazic scored a team high 18 points on 5-9 shooting (55%) from the field, though
, the FIU Women's Basketball team dropped its final road contest of the season against the University of Texas at San Antonio, 85-79, at the Convocation Center Saturday afternoon.
The loss drops FIU to 12-15 overall and 7-11 in conference action, while the Roadrunners (10-18, 8-11 C-USA) extend their winning streak to three games.
Lazic was in the starting lineup today after recording her career high, 23 points, off the bench in FIU's previous game against UTEP. All of Lazic's made field goals in today's contest were from three-point range (5-8) and she was second on the team with six rebounds.
Sophomore point guard
Tanajah Hayes was a lift off the Panthers' bench scoring 15 points and chipped in six rebounds and five assists. Hayes has now scored double digits in six straight games and is averaging 14.8 points in that span.
Senior guard
Kaliah Henderson finished the game with 10 points, two assists and two rebounds. Her streak of scoring in double figure points extends to 13 straight games and 16 of the last 17.
Junior forward
Ajae Yoakum was another factor off the bench scoring 10 points on 4-7 shooting and led FIU with 8 rebounds, while junior forward
Maria Torres recorded a team and career high eight assists.
FIU tied a season high with 12 three pointers made on 39% shooting (12-31) while shooting 42% from the field (28-66) while holding the Roadrunners to 25 percent from long range (5-20).
UTSA finished with three players in double figures. Jordyn Jenkins led all players with 33 points and was second on the Roadrunners with eight rebounds. Kyra White finished with 22 points and a team high six assists while Elyssa Coleman grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots.

The Panthers will return to Miami for their final homestand of the season as they host Louisiana Tech University on Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. FIU will welcome Rice on Saturday, March 4 for the season finale at 2 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+
