MIAMI, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the NCAA Division I Women's National Singles and Doubles rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point on Wednesday, Feb. 8, as FIU's No. 1 doubles tandem of
Kamila Umarova and
Ekaterina Khairutdinova were tabbed the 44
th-ranked duo in the nation.
The Panthers enter the ITA's Top 60 Doubles rankings after collecting a top-15 doubles win in FIU's 4-1 upset of No. 18 UCLA in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Consolation match on Sunday, Jan. 29.
The duo sits at 2-0 at the No. 1 position on the season, as Umarova and Khairutdinova secured the doubles point and early advantage for the Panthers en route to the top 25 victory after recording a 7-5 victory UCLA's then-11
th-ranked Kimmi Hance and Elise Wagle.
Additionally, freshman Ekaterina Khairutdinova was named the Conference USA's Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week last week for her performances against the Bruins.

FIU returns to action for its home opener on Saturday, Feb. 11, as the Panthers welcome North Florida to the FIU Tennis Courts. First serve is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
