Ruston, LA.– Senior guard
Kaliah Henderson tied her career high and led the Panthers off the bench with 28 points and eight rebounds, though,
the FIU Women's Basketball team fell short to Louisiana Tech (13-11, 6-7 C-USA), 76-65, at the Thomas Assembly Center Thursday evening.
The loss drops FIU to 12-11 overall and 7-7 in Conference USA action, as the Lady Techsters improve their overall record to 13-11 and snaps a two game skid.
Henderson shot 50 percent from the field (10-20) and was a perfect 6-6 from the foul line. She has now scored in double figures in nine straight games and 12 of the last 13.
Sophomore guard
Tanajah Hayes was second on the Panthers with 13 points paced the team with four steals and two assists, while sophomore guard
Zaida Gonzalez tallied 10 points and was 2-2 from behind the arc.
FIU held the Lady Techsters to 25 percent from the three-point range (3-12), though, outscored the Panthers in the paint 48-24 and forced 23 turnovers. LA Tech finished with 6 steals and scored 23 points of FIU's turnovers.
LA Tech had three players record double figure points led by Keiunna Walker with 17 and led the team with nine rebounds. Second on the Lady Techsters was Anna Larr Roberson who finished 13 points and rounding off the trio was Salma Bates tallying 13 points and five assists.
