MIAMI (Mar. 10, 2023) – Baseball opened its series against Marist College on Friday taking down the Red Foxes, 11-7. The win marks the Panthers' sixth in a row.

Mike Rosario's blazing start to the season continued as he went 2-4 with a walk, two stolen bases, two RBI and his team-best fourth home run. He also pushed his hitting streak to eight games.

Henry Wallen also hit well going 2-3 with a walk and a home run, his second of 2023.

Angel Tiburcio was stellar on the mound against the Red Foxes. The starter allowed no runs, no hits and struck out four on his way to a second win.

The FIU offense exploded for 10 runs in the first three innings.

Rosario led the game off with a solo shot to right with
Adrian Figueroa making it 2-0 with a SAC fly to score
Dante Girardi, Girardi's team-best 18th run scored.

A SAC fly from
Marcus O'Malley and a double steal in the second inning would push the Panthers advantage to 4-0.

FIU then scored six in the bottom of the third off six-straight hits and three-straight doubles, going up 10-0.

Marist struck back with four runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to cut their deficit in half.

The Red Foxes kept chipping away at the FIU lead and went into the ninth down 11-7.
