DALLAS, Texas (Mar. 17, 2023) – Baseball opened C-USA play on the road against Dallas Baptist on Friday night falling to the Patriots in extra innings, 10-8.

Junior
Adrian Figueroa continued to have the hot bat going 2-5 with four RBI against the Patriots. He is on a seven-game hit streak and has pushed home 10 runs during the streak.

The Panthers came out swinging, scoring four runs in the top of the first.
Â
FIU opened the game with three-straight hits. With the bases loaded,
Ryne Guida fired a ball into center field to put the Panthers on the board.

Figueroa followed him up with a two-run double and an error by the pitcher would allow a fourth to score to put FIU up, 4-0.
Â
Dallas Baptist responded with runs in the second and third to bring the score to 4-2 in favor of FIU.
Â
The Panthers put together another four-run inning, this time in the fourth.
Â
Marcus O'Malley gave the Panthers their fifth run with a SAC fly to right. Guida was hit by a pitch with bases loaded to score another.

Figueroa then delivered a two-run single to push FIU's advantage to 8-2.

The Patriots would eventually tie the game with home runs in the fourth and sixth, bringing the score to 8-8.

Junior
Cameron Knox took the mound in the sixth and proceeded to throw 2.1 scoreless innings to keep things deadlocked headed into the ninth inning.

Knox returned to the mound in the bottom of the ninth and with the bases loaded and only one out was able to stifle the Patriots to force extra innings.
Â
Dallas Baptist would come away with a, 10-8, walk-off win with a home run in the bottom of the 10th.
