Miami Beach, Fla. – The No. 14 FIU beach volleyball team hosted its annual Surf N' Turf Invitational at Lummus Park in Miami Beach over the weekend and came out with a win against the University of Tampa.

Overall for the tournament, the Panthers went 1-4 and their record is now 7-6 and 0-1 in Conference USA action. FIU went toe-to-toe with the top schools in the nation as all the matches dropped went down to the very end resulting in four 3-2 losses.  

Friday, March 17 - Day One
FIU vs FGCU- Loss, 3-2
FIU vs No.1 TCU- Loss, 3-2
FIU vs University of Tampa- Win, 3-2

Saturday, March 18 - Day Two
FIU vs No. 2 USC- Loss, 3-2
FIU vs No. 14 FAU- Loss, 3-2

UP NEXT
The Panthers will be back on the road next weekend to compete in the TCU Tournament- "Fight in the Fort" from March 24-25. On the first day of the event, the Panthers will play Grand Canyon University at 9:30 am ET and then the host, TCU at 3:30 p.m. ET. In day two, FIU will take on Missouri State University at 7:00 am ET and the University of California at 11:00 am ET.
