Miami, Fla. – The No. 15 FIU beach volleyball team improves its overall record to 4-2 after winning their home opener against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, 4-1, at the FIU Beach Volleyball Courts on Thursday afternoon.
 
In court one, Giada Bianchi and Alice Pratesi were the first pair to finish and gave FIU an early 1-0 lead after winning in straight sets 21-18 and 21-14.
 
Reigning Conference USA Pair of the week, Milica Vukobrat and Rachele Mancinelli, were the second pair to finish their dual in court three and also won in straight sets 21-16 and 21-16.
 
FIU's fifth pair, Lisa Luini and Emily Meyer, clinched the match for the Panthers with a 3-0 lead after winning their dual in three sets.
 
In court two, Roberta Ribeiro and Lucie Pokorna dropped their dual in three sets but Athina Dimitriadis and Zuzanna Bielak capped off the match by winning their dual in court four.
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers will stay in Florida and head to West Palm Beach to compete in the Sailfish Tri-Match on March 14 hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University. FIU will take on PBA at 12 p.m. and then Florida Southern College at 2 p.m.
