MIAMI (Mar. 8, 2023) – Baseball welcomed Stetson to FIU Baseball Stadium on Wednesday taking down the Hatters, 5-0. This marks the Panther's first shutout of the season and pushes their win streak to five.
The pitching staff was locked in against the Hatters with a rotation of four taking the mound, allowing only two hits, no runs and striking out 10.
Junior
Jackson Ritchey was the starter and threw four hitless innings, struck out six and secured his second win of the season.
The combination of
Bryan Pazos,
Richie Pena and
Cameron Knox kept Stetson off the board, gave up only two hits and struck out four.

Dante Girardi had a great game, going 3-4 with a walk, an RBI and crossed home plate twice to push his team lead in runs to 16. Redshirt senior
Mike Rosario continues to produce from the leadoff spot hitting a homerun, drawing a walk and scoring twice, with his current hit streak up to six games.
The Panthers took the lead early in the game going up 2-0 heading into the fourth inning.
Rosario led things off with solo home run over the right field wall. Junior
Adrian Figueroa would score the second run of the inning with a well hit double to the left center gap.
The FIU bats would provide insurance runs in the seventh.
Rosario led the inning off once again, this time earning a nine-pitch walk. Guida would later drive him home with a single to right field, bringing his RBI total to a team-high 15.
FIU would then draw three-straight walks to put them ahead, 5-0.
Stetson would go three-up-three-down in the next two innings with the Panther's securing their fifth win in a row.
