MIAMI (April 6, 2023) – Baseball hosted cross-town rivals FAU for the first of three games on Thursday falling to the Owls, 8-4.

For the fifth-straight game, The Panthers would score in the first inning but would find themselves down, 2-1.

FAU pushed home two runs in the top of the first.

A leadoff double by
Mike Rosario and a timely single through the right side by
Dante Girardi would cut the Owl advantage in half.
Â
FIU would go on to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth.
Â
The Panthers would get the first three batters on base to load them with no outs.
Adrian Figueroa would loop a ball into shallow center to score one.
Â
Henry Wallen was plunked on a full count to push home the second run. The offensive spurt would close with a SAC fly from
Brendan Roney to bring the score to 4-2 in favor of FIU.

The Owls would score three runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth and leave with a 8-4 win.
