MIAMI – Junior
Nikole Solis's hat trick paced FIU to a 4-0 victory over Jacksonville on Thursday's home opener from FIU Soccer Stadium.
With a pair of penalty kick scores and an insurance goal, Solis nets her second career hat trick, the last dating back to Aug. 28, 2022 in a 4-2 victory over Southern University.
FIU struck first in the 16th minute after sophomore
Brealyn Viamille taken down into the box and the Panthers were awarded a penalty kick, which Solis buried in the top right corner for her first score.
Into the 32
nd minute, following a second penalty in the box for Jacksonville, Solis stepped up once again to ring in her second goal of the night and take FIU into the half with a 2-0.
After halftime, the Blue & Gold controlled possession all the way through, allowing just zero shots to the Dolphins.
FIU added insurance in the 52

Catherine Rapp hit a low driven cross to find the open Solis to secure the hat trick.
30 seconds later, sophomore
Kennedy Floyd pressured the Jacksonville defender into an error in her own box finishing the chance to wrap the night in the Panthers', 4-0, win.
Through three games, the Panthers have outscored their opponents 17-0, while adding in another clean sheet victory on Thursday night.
With the win, FIU has begun their season 3-0, which is the best start in program history since the 1996 campaign.

The Panthers will be back in action on Sunday, Aug. 27 as they travel to Starkville, Mississippi to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. First kick is slated for 7:30 p.m. EST. and can be streamed on SEC Network+.
