MIAMI – The FIU volleyball team notched their second consecutive win at home, taking down the Stetson Hatters in four sets on Friday night from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
It was a tied affair heading into set three, until the Panthers rattled off a pair of set wins in the third and fourth to seal the victory (25-16, 24.-26, 28-26, 25-22).
The Panthers dominated the first set, winning by nine points with fifteen kills.
Stetson tied it up in the second set with a 26-24 victory that saw a total of eight ties and four lead changes.
FIU's offense found its footing winning in the pivotal third set 28-26.
It was domination in the fourth set as FIU jumped to a seven-point lead late and held on for the victory.
Senior Jade Sadeiko led the Panthers in kills with 19, a season-high and second-most donning the Blue & Gold. Junior Mackenzie Morgan was impactful with a career-high of 16 kills, her third match of the season with 10+ kill games.
Sophomore Mandi Morioka paced with 22 digs and sophomore Savannah Cook shined with 50 assists, the most as a FIU Panther.
