BOWLING GREEN, KY – The FIU Women's Soccer notched a 1-1 draw Friday night in a conference matchup on the road against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
FIU tallied the first score in the 8th minute off a goal by sophomore Catherine Rapp before the Hilltoppers tied it up at one in the 37th minute to equalize the match.
Both teams battled before ending in a draw.
The Panthers added the first score as sophomore Chinatsu Kaio snuck in a beautiful ball to Rapp, leaving her alone to notch her first goal of the season.
Western Kentucky tied it up on a goal from Rebecca Roth as both teams headed into break, 1-1.
Heading into the final 45, FIU fought, outshooting Western Kentucky 6-5, yet came up short to take the lead, resulting in the second draw of the season.
On the night, FIU led with 15 shots including five for junior Noemi Paquin and three for junior Nikole Solis.
In net, goalkeeper Ithaisa Vinoly notched three saves in the road match.

The Panthers get set for a pivotal conference matchup at home, taking on the Liberty Flames on Saturday, Oct. 6.
