MIAMI — FIU's men's basketball program hosts the New College of Florida on Friday evening in non-conference action at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
The Panthers (2-6) take on the Mighty Banyans (7-3), an NAIA-opponent, at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.

FIU looks to bounce back following a tightly-contested 88-77 defeat to rival-Florida Atlantic at home on Wednesday evening. Vianney Salatchoum led the way for FIU in defeat with a season-high 20 points on 9-for-11 shooting from the field.
Jayden Brewer posted 17 points, including a highlight-reel dunk that landed on SportsCenter's Top 10, and added a career-high 13 rebounds for his first career double-double. Dashon Gittens knocked down three triples, finishing with 14 points in 28 minutes.
Brewer continues to shine in his junior season, averaging 14.8 ppg, seventh-most in CUSA. FIU's patented high-pressure defense has also been on display this season, ranked second in CUSA and 43rd-nationally in turnovers forced per game with 15.5.
SCOUTING NEW COLLEGE (FL)
The Mighty Banyans enter this matchup following an 86-75 over Florida National at home on Wednesday evening. Charlie Yoder led New College with 25 points, going 10-for-16 from the field.
Jack Scott and Diego Eslava combined to make seven three-pointers in support. On the season, Yoder has led the scoring efforts with 22.6 points per game. Jordan Clark is averaging 15.4 ppg in support while Eslava is chipping in 10.7 ppg.
