BOCA RATON, Fla. - The FIU baseball program dropped the series final Sunday afternoon from Boca Raton. losing 24-2 to the Florida Atlantic Owls.

The Owls scored a combined three runs in the first two innings on a pair of home runs, before an 11-run inning in the third noted by a pair of grand slams.

Austin Dearing provided the Panthers solo shot in the fifth. He finished the afternoon with a pair of hits, now back-to-back games with multi-hit efforts. Adrian Figueroa earned a RBI on a walk in the seventh.

Florida Atlantic added runs, a pair in the fourth, while five scored in the fifth and two in the sixth on Sunday afternoon.

Joel Pineiro was tagged with the loss, allowing eight earned runs over two innings of work with three strikeouts.
