FIU comes into Fort Worth at 14-3, going 3-1 at the FAU Invite at Pompano Beach. The Panthers beat FGCU, 4-1, before sweeping PBA 5-0 the first day of the invite. The second day started with a loss to No. 1 USC, but FIU bounced back in a big way against No. 16 FAU, beating their southern Florida rivals, 4-1.

The Panthers will start off the invite against No. 14 Washington. The Huskies have started out the season 7-7, going 2-1 so far in conference play. Washington is 2-7 against ranked teams, with their only ranked wins of the year coming against then ranked No. 14 Grand Canyon, and then ranked No. 19 Arizona. The Huskies are 1-0 in program history against the Panthers, securing a 3-2 win over FIU last season.

FIU will then go on to play No. 4 TCU in a CUSA showdown on TCU's home courts. Last season, TCU went into the NCAA Tournament ranked the No. 2 seed, making it all the way to the semifinals before losing to USC, 3-2. This season, TCU comes into the event 14-2, and 3-0 in CUSA play with wins over UAB, Tulane and FAU. The Horned Frogs are second in CUSA, and have a record of 3-2 against ranked teams on the year, with then ranked No. 15 Washington, No. 6 LSU and No. 16 FAU being their ranked victories. TCU leads the head-to-head against FIU 6-2, with FIU's last win against the Horned Frogs coming in 2018.

In their first game of the second day of the invite, FIU will take on No. 11 Arizona State. The Sun Devils are coming into the invite at 11-3, and 2-1 in conference. Playing well against ranked opponents, ASU is 5-3 versus teams in the top-20 rankings, beating then ranked No. 12 Georgia State, No.17 South Carolina, No. 11 FAU, No. 2 Stanford and No. 19 Arizona. This will only be the second time the two programs face off against each other, with FIU claiming victory, 4-1 in 2017.

The Panthers' final matchup of the invite will come against FGCU. FIU just played FGCU in their last invite, beating the Eagles, 4-1 on Pompano Beach. FGCU is 10-10 on the season so far, going 1-7 against ranked teams with their only win coming against No. 20 Tampa, 3-2. This will be the eleventh meeting in program history against the Eagles, with FIU leading the head-to-head 9-1. FGCU's only win in program history against FIU came last season, when FGCU won 3-2.
