Fort Worth, Texas. – No. 13 FIU goes 0-4 at the TCU Invite in Fort Worth, taking on the likes of No. 14 Washington, No. 4 TCU, No. 11 Arizona State and Florida Gulf Coast University.

Day One

The Panthers began the invite against Washington University, dropping the match, 4-1. FIU's lone win came from the Panthers' top pair on court one, in Giada Bianchi and Reka Orsi Toth. The duo beat Washinton's top pair in straight sets, winning the first, 21-18 before beating their opponent, 21-14.

The next match of the day came against Texas Christian University, dropping the match against the No. 4 team in the country and CUSA foe, 4-1. This time the Panthers' lone win came on court two, with Alice Pratesi and Lisa Luini grabbing a win for the Panthers in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-16. 

 

 

Day Two

In the first game of day two, FIU dropped their contest to the No. 11 Arizona State Sun Devils, 4-1. Giada Bianchi and Reka Orsi Toth once again secured the Panthers' lone win on court one, battling to a victory in three sets. The pair won the first set 22-20 before dropping the next one, but rebounded in the final set, 15-12, to take the point for the Panthers.

In the last match of the invite for FIU, the Panthers dropped their contest to fellow Florida foe, Florida Gulf Coast University, 3-2. FIU's two wins came on the first two courts, with Giada Bianchi and Reka Orsi Toth winning in three sets on court one, claiming the first set 21-16 before dropping their next one. The pair came out victorious in the third set 15-11 to secure a point for the Panthers. On court two, Lucie Pokorna and Lisa Luini won in straight sets, winning the first 21-18 before coming out victorious in the second 21-17. 

 

 

UP NEXT

FIU will be back in the Sunshine State to compete in the FSU Invitational, taking on LMU, Florida State, Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and University of Alabama - Birmingham.
