MIAMI – The FIU Women's Soccer Team announced its 2024 schedule on Thursday, highlighted by two Power Five schools in Oklahoma and University of Miami, as well as five in-state rivals.
The culmination of the 2024 season will see FIU host the Conference USA Tournament from November 6-10, where the Panthers will look to hold up the championship trophy for the first time in program history.
The Panthers' first seven games of the year will be on the road, opening up the season away against 2023 NCAA Tournament participant, Florida Gulf Coast. They will go on to travel to Oklahoma, playing the Sooners for the first time in program history, before coming back to the Sunshine State to take on Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville, Stetson and University of Miami, all of which are away games.
FIU's first home matches of the season will be played against a pair of first time opponents in Southeast Louisiana on September 7 at 10:00 a.m., followed by Southeast Missouri State on September 12 at 7:00 p.m.
The Panthers will go on to begin conference play on the road against Middle Tennessee, before traveling to Lynchburg, Virginia to match up against 2023 CUSA Champions, Liberty.
FIU's first home match of conference play will come on October 3 against the 2023 CUSA Tournament runner-ups, New Mexico State Aggies, who ended the 2023 regular season atop the standings with a 10-6-3 overall record and 6-0-2 conference record. The Panthers will then welcome University of Texas - El Paso on October 6 at 1:00 p.m.
FIU will once again hit the road for three games in a row, first traveling to Louisiana Tech before going to Sam Houston, and ending their roadtrip at CUSA's newest member, Kennesaw State.
The Panthers will end the regular season with a two-game homestand, first matching up against Western Kentucky who placed third in the conference last season, one ahead of FIU. The Panthers' final game of the 2024 regular season will come against Jacksonville State, wrapping up their ninth and final conference game before the conference tournament.
Conference USA will only get more competitive in the coming years, welcoming Missouri State and Delaware for the 2025 season, after adding Kennesaw State this season.
