Dallas, Texas - FIU Women's Soccer's Reagan Bridges has been honored as the Conference USA Scholar Athlete of the Year for Women's Soccer. The award, voted on by the conference's nine faculty athletic representatives, are presented to the top student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport based on academic achievement (GPA), athletic achievement and service.
The rising senior posted a stellar 3.8 GPA in Fall of 2023, and followed it up with a 4.0 GPA in Spring of 2024 as a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry, with a second major in Natural & Applied Sciences. The honors College student is also completing a minor in Business. Bridges ended the academic year with a 3.99 GPA.
This award is the latest in a strong year for Bridges both academically and athletically, as the defender was voted to CUSA's All-Academic First Team for the second time at the conclusion of the 2023 season, as well as selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the second consecutive season.
On the field, the Colorado native started in all 18 games on the season, playing the second most minutes on the team with 1,517 which included two goals and two assists. Bridges was voted as a Conference USA All-Conference Second Team member for her efforts in the 2023 campaign.
