The Panthers did not waste any time. Junior Ashly Martinez scored the first goal for FIU at the 7:34 mark, her first score in a Panthers uniform. Senior Noemi Paquin assisted on the goal, her first of the year.

FIU did not let up and quickly added more on, with sophomore Montelene Dymond scoring her second goal in as many games during the 11th minute. The Panthers continued to bury the Dolphins, adding on one more goal before the half on a score by senior Nikole Solis, assisted by fellow senior Camille Sahirul. It is Solis's third goal of the year, with the assist being Sahirul's first of the season.

The Panthers would go into the half with a 3-0 advantage.
