DELAND, Fla. – The FIU men's soccer program dropped its road contest Monday night, losing 1-0 to the Stetson Hatters in non-conference action.
Both teams battled tightly in the first 45 minutes with FIU holding possession with nine shots.
The Panthers held possession offensively with eight shots in the second half, yet Stetson scored the lone goal of the night in the 69
th minute for the victory.
On the night, FIU logged a total of 17 shots with seven on goal, led by freshman
Ron Arie with four shots while
Bernardo Dos Santos Monteiro had a pair of shots from the attacking line.
In net, reigning AAC goalkeeper of the week
Nigel Van Haveren posted four saves between the pipes.

The Panthers continue their three-game road swing with a trip to Chapel Hill, N.C. for a matchup at #6 North Carolina. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and can be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
