PANTHERS KICKOFF 2024 SLATE AT BIG TEN FOE INDIANA
The Panthers hit the road for the 2024 season opener as FIU will trek north to battle Big Ten member Indiana in Bloomington in a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Memorial Stadium.

Saturday's game will be aired on Big Ten Network and called by Joe Beninati (pxp), Matt Barkley (analyst) and Shane Sparks (sideline).

The audio broadcast can be heard on The Panther Online Network with Corey Brooks (pxp) and Nick Garrido (analyst) on the mic.

The pregame show on The Panther Online Network will start 15 minutes prior to kickoff and a postgame show will follow the conclusion of the contest.

PANTHERS AND INDIANA TO SQUARE OFF FOR FOURTH TIME
ÂFIU will be making its second trip to Bloomington to face Indiana and will be meeting the Hoosiers for the fourth time in program history when they meet on Saturday afternoon.
Â
The Panthers last met the Hoosiers during the 2018 season in Miami - a 38-28 Indiana win. The previous matchup also took place at the newly renamed Pitbull Stadium in 2016 - also won by the Hoosiers by a 34-13 margin.

FIU's only previous road clash with the Hoosiers came back in 2015 - a 36-22 victory for the Hoosiers.

FIU IN SEASON OPENERS
The Panthers will open their 23rd season in program history when they travel to Indiana on August 31.

FIU is 6-16 all-time in season openers entering Saturday's clash with the Hoosiers.

FIU IN ROAD OPENERS
FIU is 5-17 all-time in road openers entering Saturday's meeting with Indiana.

The Panthers last win in the initial road clash of the season came in 2018 by a 28-20 margin at Old Dominion.

The Panthers' roster is loaded with student-athletes that hail from the Sunshine State and specifically South Florida.

FIU has a total of 91 players from the state of Florida - including a total of 58 combined from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

PASSMORE RETURNS TO FAMILIAR SPOT
FIU senior defensive tackle
Jeramy Passmore returns to Bloomington for the first time since beginning his collegiate career with the Hoosiers.
Â
Passmore played for Indiana during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He redshirted in his initial season before appearing in three games in 2020. He was honored as a 2020 Academic All-Big Ten selction.
Â
SCOUTING INDIANA
The Hoosiers are set to open their initial season under first-year head coach Curt Cignetti, who arrives in Bloomington following a highly successful run at James Madison.

The Hoosiers feature 54 newcomers on their roster, including 30 transfers - 13 of which followed Cignetti from James Madison.
Â
Nine of Indiana's 10 on-field coaches are new to the program.
Â
Wide receiver Elijah Sarratt is entering his first season with the Hoosiers after a 2022 campaign that saw him total 1,191 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 82 receptions during his sophomore season at James Madison.

Indiana punter James Evans with a career average of 43.9 yards per punt - currently Indiana's career leader.
