MIAMI — FIU's volleyball program announced the addition of two incoming student-athletes for its 2025 season, welcoming Magda Stambrowska and Beka Pfefferkorn to the Panther family.

Stambrowska, a transfer middle blocker from St. John's, will enter as a senior and compete with FIU for her final collegiate season. Pfefferkorn, a freshman middle blocker from Cypress, Texas, joins the Panthers as an early enrollee for the 2025 Spring semester.

Stambrowska stands at 6-3 and enjoyed three highly-successful seasons as a member of the Red Storm, out of the Big East Conference. She racked up 599 kills in three seasons, hitting .293 on over 1,400 attempts. The Katowice, Poland native also was outstanding defensively at the net with 303 career total blocks, an average of 0.8 blocks per set.

As a junior, she helped St. John's to a 24-13 overall record and 10-8 record in Big East play. The Johnnies were selected to play in the postseason, participating in the NIVC. St John's defeated NC A&T, Virginia and UCONN before falling to Bowling Green in the semifinals. She totaled 256 kills and appeared in all 37 matches, hitting .273 for season. Stambrowska also totaled 94.0 blocks for the year.

In her freshman season, Stambrowska earned Big East Freshman of the Week and also finished in the top-15 in Division I in blocks among all freshman (113). As a sophomore in 2023, she was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week and also to the All-Tournament Team at the Jack Kaiser Classic. Stambrowska and St. John's finished as runners-up at the 2023 Big East Tournament.

Before her collegiate career, she was a standout performer in Poland, selected as the 'best blocker' at the Polish U18 National Championships. She also competed for both Poland's U16 through U21 national teams. With the Polish national team, Stambrowska won several medals, including three silvers and a bronze.

Pfefferkorn, standing at 6-2, comes to FIU after an accomplished prep and club career. She racked up 863 total kills in high school and was Bridgeland High School's team MVP. Her Houston Skyline 17 Royal club team held the number one ranking in the country for the majority of the 2024 season and finished second in the Open Division at the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships, the highest club division. In addition to their silver medal finish at nationals, her Houston Skyline team won four Open Qualifiers in 2024 as well as seven total gold medal finishes in her three years with the squad.

At Bridgeland, she was named First Team All-District twice in 2023 and 2024 and earned Honorable Mention status in 2022. Pfefferkorn is currently ranked by PrepVolleyball as the No. 74 overall recruit in the 2025 class and the 14th middle blocker. Prep Dig ranks her as the No. 21 middle blocker in the class and 98th overall. Pfefferkorn is only the third nationally-ranked recruit in program history following current teammates Jillian Huckabey and Kaylee Musick. She was also featured on the AVCA's Best and Brightest First Team along with being named to the Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
