MIAMI – Three FIU baseball players,
Kishon Frett,
Alex Ulloa, and
Brylan West, have been named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-Conference USA (CUSA) Team, as announced earlier this week by the baseball publication.
Frett had an impressive 2024 season, leading the team with 16 home runs—the sixth-highest single-season total in program history. The Ocala, Fla., native appeared in 50 games with 47 starts in left field, finishing the year with a .273 batting average and 37 RBIs. Frett also recorded two streaks of hitting a home run in four consecutive games, from Feb. 23–25 and March 22–26.
Ulloa, FIU's starting shortstop in 2024, started in all 57 games throughout the campaign. The rising senior hit .327 with 11 home runs, 38 RBIs, and eight doubles (second-most on the team). Ulloa also delivered 19 multi-hit games, including eight games with three or more hits.
Brylan West, a key offensive contributor for the Panthers, enters the 2025 season as the team's top returning hitter. The Tampa native made 48 starts, primarily in the leadoff spot, and earned CUSA Second Team All-Conference honors in 2024. West posted a .335 batting average with 15 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, and 40 RBIs. He started the 2024 season, going 10-for-12 with nine RBIs and two home runs in his first three games, earning the season's first CUSA Hitter of the Week accolade.
FIU baseball opens the 2025 season on February 14 at home against Stonehill at 6:30 p.m.. To secure your 2025 FIU Baseball season tickets visit FIUSports.com/BSBSeasonTickets.
