MIAMI – The FIU swimming and diving program closes out the dual meet portion of its season on Saturday morning, hosting Florida Atlantic at the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Center for Senior Day.

The Panthers enter Saturday following a strong performance at the FIU Sprint Invite on Jan. 4, where they secured a dominant first-place finish with 482 points at the Biscayne Bay Campus.
This dual meet marks the Panthers' first meet competition since Dec. 16 vs Marshall after last week's meet at Florida Gulf Coast was cancled due to cold weather conditions.
With under a month until the AAC Championships, FIU boasts several swimmers ranked among the conference's best. Junior
Nicole Frank leads the AAC in the 200-breast (2:11.62) and 200-IM (1:59.52) while ranking fourth in the 400-IM (4:18.70).
Sophomore
Diana Santamaria continues to excel in sprint events, holding the AAC's top time in the 50-back (24.90), second in the 100-back (54.52), and third in the 50-free.
Freshman Frida Stretre Løbersli has made an immediate impact, leading the conference in the 50-breast (28.52), ranking second in the 100-breast (1:01.05), and fourth in the 100-IM (58.07).
Saturday marks the 15th meeting between FIU and Florida Atlantic, with the Panthers winning all 14 previous dual meets. FIU defeated FAU 173-126 in last year's matchup in Boca Raton on Jan. 27, 2024.
LAST TIME OUT
FIU delivered a dominant performance at the FIU Sprint Invite, finishing 93 points ahead of AAC rival Tulane.
Freshman
Tawannah McLemore starred at the meet, earning victories in the 100-IM (58.46) and the 50-fly, where she set a meet record with a time of 25.05. She also placed fourth in the 100-fly (59.30). For her efforts, McLemore was named AAC Freshman Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 7.
On the diving boards, freshman
Brooke Megdall shone with a second-place finish in the platform event (207.30) at the FIU Diving Invitational. She also placed sixth in the 1-meter prelims (227.55) to earn AAC Freshman Diver of the Week honors for the fourth consecutive week.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Florida Atlantic enters Saturday's meet following a Jan. 18 victory over St. Thomas and Indian River, scoring 203.5 points.
This season, the Owls have secured wins over Indian River, Keiser, and earned first place at the Patriot Invitational.
Both FIU and FAU previously faced off at the TYR Fall Classic in October, where the Panthers took first place while the Owls finished second.
Freshman Ludo Pavia earned AAC Freshman Swimmer of the Week (Jan. 21) after securing four first-place finishes in the 50-free, 100-free, 200-medley relay, and 200-free relay.
Following Saturday's meet, FIU and FAU will meet again at the AAC Swimming and Diving Championships in Dallas, Texas, from Feb. 19–22.
