Kira Givans has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Givans powered the Panthers to a two-match road sweep at Sam Houston over the weekend, delivering one of her strongest performances of the season.
Across the two victories, the Sacramento, Calif., native totaled 37 kills and nine service aces, averaging 5.3 kills and 1.3 aces per set while hitting at an efficient clip.
In Friday's four-set win, Givans registered 22 kills and five service aces, marking her third match this season with 20 or more kills. She followed that up with another standout performance on Saturday, posting 15 kills and four service aces in FIU's straight-set sweep of the Bearkats.
The senior outside hitter has now recorded five consecutive matches with double-digit kills and 11 such performances overall this season. Givans continues to pace the Panthers offensively, leading the team with 236 total kills, which ranks sixth in Conference USA.
