MIAMI – The FIU volleyball program continued its winning ways Friday evening, rolling to a straight-set sweep over Delaware from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
FIU (11-8, 5-2 CUSA) earned its fifth win in league play and fifth sweep of the 2025 campaign, taking down the Blue Hens by scores of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-12. The win marks the Panthers' third consecutive victory overall.
Sophomore
Jillian Huckabey led the charge offensively with a team-high 14 kills, marking her fourth double-digit performance of the season—and her fourth in the last five matches. The Olathe, Kansas native also added two service aces, two assists, and four digs in a strong all-around effort.
Senior
Kira Givans, the reigning Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, followed with nine kills, while graduate student
Sofie Vogel chipped in seven. Freshman
Rebekah Pfefferkorn provided an efficient spark off the bench with six kills, a team-high three service aces, and two blocks.
Senior
Magda Stambrowska anchored the front line with a team-best three blocks, while setter
Savannah Cook continued her consistent play with 32 assists and six digs, bringing her season total to 566 assists.
Libero
Mandi Morioka added eight digs to pace the back row in the win.
UP NEXT
FIU closes out the two-game contest on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. against Delaware. It will be streamed live from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
