MIAMI – The FIU volleyball program closed out its regular season home slate in style, earning a four-set victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday afternoon inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
FIU (18-9, 12-2 Conference USA) extended its win streak to 10 straight conference matches — the longest in program history since joining CUSA in 2013. The Panthers also finished their home schedule with ten wins inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
After dropping the opening set, 25-20, FIU rebounded to dominate the next three by scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-16 to seal the victory.
Three Panthers registered double-digit kills, led by
Jillian Huckabey, who tallied 14 kills and 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Senior
Kira Givans followed with 13 kills — marking her 17th match this year with 10 or more.
Senior
Magda Stambrowska anchored the front line with 10 kills and two service aces on her Senior Day, notching her seventh multi-kill performance of the year.
Setter
Savannah Cook paced the offense with 35 assists, while senior
Mandi Morioka led the defense with 16 digs.
Courtney O'Brien and
Kambree Rodriguez each added 14 digs to round out a strong defensive showing.
