MIAMI - Women's basketball (6-4) dropped their first game since November 22 on Saturday afternoon, losing 60-57 to Florida Atlantic (6-6).
The game proved to be a close, defensive battle, with the first quarter ending 11-9 in the Panthers' favor. Florida Atlantic returned the favor in the second quarter, taking a 24-22 lead into the break.
The Panthers continued to battle in the third, ending the penultimate frame with a 36-35 lead.Â
FIU was not able to hold on in the last 10 minutes, dropping their fourth game of the 2025-26 season.
Senior
Parris Atkins was the only Panther to end in double-digits, putting up a season-high 21 points and adding on four rebounds, two assists and two steals.Â
FIU ended the contest winning the points off turnover battle (23-9), corralling more rebounds (43-37) and putting up 26 points in the paint to the Owls' 24.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will have a break for the holidays before returning to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center for their last matchup before CUSA-play starts, facing off against Florida National on December 30 at 1 p.m.
