MIAMI - FIU Beach Volleyball bounces back to beat University of Alabama - Birmingham on Wednesday morning, 4-1 at the FIU Beach Volleyball Courts. 

Junior Julia Panko and senior Maria Vinatea started the day off for the Panthers in a win in straight sets on court two, 28-26 and 21-13. Sophomore Katarina Drozd and freshman Brianna Luoma continued the winning ways for FIU on court three, beating the Blazers on court four 21-18 in set one before dropping set two, and cruising to a 15-8 win in set three to clinch the court.

Senior Zoe Cahill and junior Kendra Brown clinched the match for FIU on flight five, first winning an easy 21-10 first set, before battling to a 22-20 win in set two. A duo of seniors in Ella Gray and Sofie Vogel were the last Panther pair to win on the day, taking flight one in three sets. They dropped set one before rallying to two straight wins in sets two and three, 21-16 and 15-10.

 

UP NEXT

FIU will travel out west to compete in the East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach, California on March 14 and 15. The Panthers will play Hawaii and Cal on day one of the tournament, before playing LMU and UCLA on day two.
