MIAMI – No. 19 FIU finishes the East Meets West Invitational, hosted by UCLA, 0-4 against No. 18 Hawaii, No. 7 Cal, No. 2 LMU and No. 1 UCLA.
Day One
The Panthers began the tournament against No. 18 Hawaii, dropping the matchup 4-1. FIU's lone win of the match came on court one thanks to sophomore Ella Gray and senior Sofie Vogel. The pair won their first set, 21-17, before losing set two, forcing a third set which the Panthers won 15-13.

The Panthers' struggles continued in their second match of the day when they took on No. 7 Cal, once again finishing on the losing end, 4-1. Sophomore Katarina Drozd and freshman Brianna Luoma took court three for FIU in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-18.

Day Two
The Panthers' day two consisted of two heavyweight matchups, starting the day against No. 2 LMU and finishing against the host school in No. 1 UCLA. FIU dropped both of the matchups in 5-0 fashion.

On court three against UCLA, Brianna Luoma and Katarina Drozd put up an incredible effort, winning their second set by a staggering score of 39-37.

UP NEXT
The Panthers will stay on the road and participate in another East vs West Tournament, this time at ATX Beach where they will play LMU again, Arizona State, Cal and Grand Canyon on March 21 and 22.
