MIAMI - The No. 19 FIU Beach Volleyball team will participate in a tri-meet hosted by CSUN on Wednesday, March 18, playing CSUN at 1 p.m., before matching up against Colorado Mesa at 3 p.m.

CSUN has started their season with a 7-7 record. They won their first two matches of the season against Hope International and Cal State LA, but then went on to lose their next five matches, three of which were against ranked opponents. However, the Matadors rebounded in the following weeks, winning five of their next seven matches, including victories over Cal State Bakersfield, Utah, Santa Clara, UTEP, and Morehead State.

Colorado Mesa has had a successful season so far, with a 10-2 record. The Mavericks won their first four matches, including victories over the No. 1 and No. 4 NAIA teams, Ottawa University Arizona and Arizona Christian. In their next meet, they went 4-0 against Texas A&M-Kingsville, Wayland Baptist, UTEP, and Tarleton State. CMU followed this up with two more 5-0 victories in a doubleheader against Central Wyoming College.

The Panthers, on the other hand, have hit a bit of a skid in recent weeks. Most notably, at the East Meets West Invite hosted by UCLA, FIU faced four ranked teams and went 0-4 in those matchups. With an 8-9 record, the Panthers will look to bounce back at the upcoming CSUN/Colorado Mesa Tri-meet.
