MIAMI – No. 14 FIU completes the FGCU Inaugural Tournament with a 1-3 record, with their lone win coming against South Carolina on day two of the invite.
Day One
The Panthers began the tournament against the host school in FGCU, dropping their contest to the Eagles, 4-1. FIU's lone win of the match came from senior Zoe Cahill and junior Kendra Brown on court five. The pair won in straight sets, besting their opponent 21-14, before winning 21-17.

The Panthers' struggles continued in their second match of the day when they took on No. 20 Stetson, falling to the Hatters 4-1. Junior Julia Panko and Senior Ella Gray took home FIU's only victory of the match on court one. The duo dropped the first set, before winning 21-17 and 15-10 in sets two and three.

Day Two
FIU bounced back in their first matchup of day two, beating South Carolina 4-1. Kendra Brown and Zoe Cahill fought to a victory in straight sets on court five, 21-18 and 22-20, before Maria Vinatea and Sofie Vogel clinched court two in straight sets as well (21-13 and 23-21). Arianna Franklin and Ola Chudzik secured the match for the Panthers on court three in three sets, dropping set one before winning sets two and three 21-15 and 15-11. Ella Gray and Julia Panko grab the fourth point for FIU on court one, beating the Gamecocks in straight sets 21-16 and 21-18.

FIU could not continue their momentum into their final match of the tournament, dropping their battle with No. 19 North Florida, 5-0.

UP NEXT
FIU will travel out west to compete in the East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach, California on March 14 and 15. The Panthers will play Hawaii and Cal on day one of the tournament, before playing LMU and UCLA on day two.
