MIAMI – FIU men's soccer midfielder Scott Neil has been named to the American Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Neil, a graduate student from Kilmarnock, Scotland, put together a standout opening weekend, recording five points with three assists and a goal. He currently ranks tied for second in the nation in assists.
 
The midfielder made an immediate impact in FIU's season-opening 4-1 victory over Omaha on Thursday, Aug. 21, dishing out three assists, including the game-winner. His performance marked the most assists by a Panther in a single match since Sept. 23, 2022, when Julian Hodek accomplished the feat against SMU.
 
Neil carried that momentum into Sunday's contest against Creighton (Aug. 24), where he scored his first goal of the season with a strike to the top of the net.
 
The honor marks the first weekly award for an FIU player this season.
