FIU (1-1-1) looks to bounce back after dropping a 2-0 decision at No. 8 NC State on Friday, Aug. 29, in Raleigh. The Panthers held the Wolfpack scoreless for 74 minutes before conceding two late goals.
Goalkeeper
Nigel Van Haveren shined in the effort, recording a career-high 11 saves — including eight in the first half. His performance marked the most saves by a Panther since Johan Peñaranda's 14-stop outing against Marshall on March 13, 2021. Through three matches this season, Van Haveren leads the American Conference with 16 total saves.
On the attack,
Scott Neil paces FIU with five points and three assists, which is tied for the conference lead. Neil has started all three matches, adding a shot on goal at NC State.
Eduardo Mustre leads the team with two goals and nine shots, while junior forward
Pasquale Capriati has chipped in with a goal and an assist in minutes off the bench.
Freshman
Dominic Brady has earned back-to-back starts on the wing, and
Johan Helan leads the squad in minutes played (232). Joao Domingues has started all three matches in midfield, while
Mathys Lefebvre logged his second consecutive full 90-minute performance against NC State. Defender
Alfonso Gilleard-Soriano made his first career start Friday, also going the distance.
HISTORY WITH THE GAMECOCKS

SCOUTING SOUTH CAROLINA
The Gamecocks enter Tuesday's contest 1-2 overall, coming off losses to No. 6 Clemson and USC Upstate. Last season, South Carolina finished 10-5-2, placing fifth in the standings.
