ATHENS, Ga. –The FIU volleyball program dropped its opening match of the Bulldog Classic on Friday afternoon, falling in straight sets to Georgia Southern at Stegeman Coliseum.
Kira Givans led the Panthers with her third consecutive double-digit performance, recording 15 kills. Courtney O'Brien added 13 kills and eight digs, marking her fourth straight match in double figures.
Graduate student Sofie Vogel contributed a season-best 11 kills, while setter Kaylee Musick registered a double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs.
Defensively, libero Mandi Morioka paced FIU with 13 digs, moving within 12 of reaching 1,000 for her career.
The Panthers dropped the tightly contested sets by scores of 25-19, 26-24, and 25-20.
