DALLAS, Texas - Panthers' forward Jayden Boelter and goalkeeper Valery Restrepo have been awarded Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week for the period ending September 28, conference officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
Graduate Jayden Boelter is coming off her best week as a Panther. In FIU's first match at Kennesaw State, the Kentucky-native found the back of the net on a header in the 66th minute, putting the Panthers up 2-0 in an eventual win. In her next game at Jacksonville State, the forward again scored on a header, giving the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute.Â
The week's goals gave Boelter four goals in her last four games, three of which were against CUSA opponents. Boelter added on with her first assist of the season to freshman Roxy Brewer in the 57th minute, the eventual winning-goal. The week saw the most production of the season from the recent transfer, earning herself five points in the week alone.
FIU's standout goalkeeper, junior Valery Restrepo, earned a clean sheet in her first match of the week at Kennesaw State, her third shutout of the season. Seeing nine shots in game, Restrepo corralled two saves, en route to the first victory of the week for the Panthers. FIU's second win of the week came against Jacksonville State. The Gamecock sent a flurry of 10 shots and six shots on goal Restrepo's way, with the Colombia-native recording five saves in the contest. It was Restrepo's sixth game of the season with six or more goals.
This is the first career CUSA Offensive Player of the Week for Jayden Boelter. Valery Restrepo earned CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week four times during the 2024 season, with this week being her first time receiving the honor in the 2025 season.
