Beach Volleyball Wins Three Duals at the Nola Classic

The team won three straight contests before dropping the last

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Beach Volleyball finished the Nola Classic with a 3-1 record, going undefeated on day one before splitting their matches day two.

Hanna Gubik and Nicole Robison started it off for the Panthers on court two, winning their first match of the meet in three sets (21-13, 14-21, 16-14). Kendra Brown and Isabella Pereira continued their dominance on court three, cruising to a straight set victory, 21-13 and 21-15. A freshmen duo in Lauren Coady and Elizabeth Nye secured the match for FIU on court four, besting their counterparts in three sets (21-13, 21-23, 15-8).

In the Panthers' second match of day two, FIU cruised to a 5-0 victory over New Orleans. FIU's number one duo in Brianna Luoma and Katarina Drozd won in straight sets (21-16, 21-15), while Hanna Gubik and Nicole Robison did the same on court two (21-11, 21-13). Kendra Brown and Isabella Pereira won their second match of the day on court three (21-18, 21-17), with Lauren Coady and Elizabeth Nye also winning their second on court four (21-14, 21-12). Sarah Boyle and Madison Hobbs rounded out the sweep on court five in straight sets, 21-13 and 21-14.

FIU started day two with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the host-school Tulane, who received votes in this week's AVCA poll. Katarina Drozd and Brianna Luoma once again took care of court one, besting their counterparts in straight sets, 21-17 and 21-22. Kendra Brown and Isabella Pereira won in straight sets on court three, 21-16 and 21-16, while Lauren Coady and Elizabeth Nye grabbed the win on court four in three sets. The pair dropped set one before winning the next two straight (18-21, 21-11, 15-12), leading to FIU's best win of the 2026 season.

The Panthers finished the match against No. 20 Arizona, dropping the contest 5-0.

The Panthers will head to Youngsville, Louisiana for the Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championships from April 23-25.
