MURFREESBORO, Tenn.– FIU men's & women's track & field are headed to the Conference USA Outdoor Championships hosted by Middle Tennessee. All three days will be televised on ESPN+, and the Panthers are looking to improve upon their fourth and eighth-place finishes from last season, respectively.
Notable Storylines
- Blake Orr has won three javelin events this year and will look to defend his gold medal in the event in 2025 this weekend. His throw of 70.01m at the Georgia Tech Invite places him 12th in the TFRRS Div. I East Outdoor Qualifying list.
- Raynell Chambers holds the school record in both the 200m and 400m, which he will be competing in during the weekend. He set the record in the 200m earlier this season at the USF Alumni Invitational with a run of 20.63.
- Arndis Oskarsdottir is currently fifth in the outdoor qualifying list after her performance at the Florida Relays, finishing with a throw of 55.48m.
- Isabell-Mary Luik contributed to a sweep of the javelin at the East Coast Relays with a throw of 51.83m, looking to further that mark this weekend. She won CUSA Field Athlete of the Week following that performance.
- Kylie Neira has had an outstanding freshman season. After winning freshman of the meet during the Indoor CUSA Championships, she will look to do the same at outdoor.
